Driver charged in rollover crash that injured two

A Norfolk County man is facing charges following a two-vehicle collision that sent two people to hospital.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Saturday shortly before 10:17 p.m., a vehicle was travelling east on 1st Concession Road STR in Middleton when it collided with a SUV that was travelling south on Highway 59.  The crash caused the eastbound vehicle to flip over into a roadside ditch.

A passenger in the SUV suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to hospital by ambulance.

As a result of an investigation, the driver of the eastbound vehicle, 41-year-old Craig Lawson of Norfolk County, has been charged with operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm, operation of a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams, and disobeying a stop sign.  Lawson is scheduled to appear in court in Simcoe at a later date.
