Man charged after woman sexually assaulted during ultrasound

A man has been charged after a woman was sexually assaulted when she went for an ultrasound examination in London.

According to London police, the woman went to a scheduled appointment at My Health Centre near Oxford Street and Wharncliffe Road on July 30.

"During her appointment, the victim was sexually assaulted by a staff member," police said in a news release issued Wednesday.

Police were notified on September 9 and an investigation was launched.

On Monday, officers arrested 58-year-old Mohamed Abdel Elshamy. He is charged with one count of sexual assault. He is to appear in court on December 8.
