Police investigate sexual assault, robbery in southeast London

City police are investigating after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted and robbed in southeast London Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the area of Dakin Street and Price Street at around 4:30 a.m. for reports of a woman in the street screaming -- she was later transported to hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the female victim had been in the male suspect's vehicle before she was physically assaulted and robbed of her personal belongings and money in a nearby park -- the two were not known to each other prior to Sunday's alleged events.

The suspect is described as being Indigenous, 30 to 40 years of age, approximately 300 lbs with long black wavy hair worn in a ponytail, wearing a black t-shirt with a musical band logo on the front, blue shorts and white running shoes. He was operating an unknown, older model, 4-door, black, small vehicle.

Anyone with information in relation to this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
