Police headquarters to reopen to public by appointment

Londoners picking up freedom of information documents or requiring fingerprinting will once again be able to venture inside London police headquarters.

As of Monday, the police service will begin the gradual reopening of its building at 601 Dundas Street. It had been closed to the public since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Appointments will now be required for anyone needing to go inside police headquarters and some individuals may be asked to remain in their vehicle before being allowed to enter.

According to police, visitors will be screened prior to going inside, masks will be mandatory, and physical distancing must be maintained. Hand sanitizer stations have also been set up at the main entrance. Those with an appointment will be permitted to enter the building only 15 minutes before their scheduled time.

While police headquarters is reopening, the public is still encouraged to use the service's online tools for routine matters and reporting non-urgent crimes.

The public can book an appointment at police headquarters through the service's website or by calling 519-661-5515 ext. 4788.
