One new COVID-19 case in London-area

The Middlesex-London Health Unit reported just one new case of COVID-19 in the region on Saturday.

The total number of people who have been infected with the virus in London-Middlesex since the pandemic began now sits at 675.

Of the total cases, 255 were contracted through an outbreak, 147 from close contact and 62 from travel. Meanwhile, there was no known link for 186 of the cases while 25 cases are pending or undetermined.

So far, 586 people have recovered, a number that did not change from Friday to Saturday.

Another number that has remained stagnant for several weeks now is the total number of deaths from the virus, which sits at 57.

There were no new outbreaks reported on Saturday, with the only current outbreak at the Victoria Hospital Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit.

Provincially, there was a 0.3 per cent increase in cases reported on Saturday. The number of cases in Ontario is now at  39,333 with 89.6 per cent of the cases resolved.
