London residents arrested in Brampton robbery investigation

Five London residents are facing charges in connection with a robbery and carjacking incident in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police said the incident occurred as two men were in the process of completing a sale of some high-end sneakers in the area of Olivia Marie Road and Messina Avenue in the City of Brampton, around 2:50 a.m. on Friday. One of the men had a 2019 Mercedes Benz.

After the sale, the shoes were placed in the trunk of the vehicle. At which time, investigators from the Central Robbery Bureau said a grey Sedan pulled up and two men pointed guns at the heads of the two men who had just completed the sale. One of the armed men demanded the keys to the Mercedes and the two suspects then took off in both vehicles.

Police said the Mercedes was later found in London in the area of Horizon Drive and Farrah Road.

With help from London police, a search warrant was executed and three men were arrested. During the search, officers seized the stolen vehicle, a large portion of the stolen property, and an imitation firearm.

Police said Illia Ayo, 18, Stephan Ayo, 20, and Jahvahn George, 20, were charged with robbery, imitation firearm-use while committing offence, and disguise with intent.

Meanwhile, Madout Lual, 24, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and fail to comply with undertaking.

The four men were transported to the Region of Peel for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.

A 21-year-old woman from London, Emma O'Connor, was also arrested in connection with the case for possession of property obtained by crime. She has a future court date set in September.

None of the charges against the accused have been proven in court.
