Charges laid after man threatened with knife

A 32-year-old London man is accused of threatening another man with a knife and trying to spit on and bite police officers.

A man was drinking alcohol outside of a building at the corner of Wellington and Horton streets around 4 p.m. on Monday when another man asked him to leave. The man with the drink allegedly pulled out a folding knife and made threats against the other man.

London police were called and while trying to arrest the man he began resisting. The man tried spitting on and biting officers, police said.

No one was hurt during the incident.

A search of the suspect turned up three knives, police said.

A 32-year-old London man is charged with resisting arrest, assault with a weapon, and failure to comply with release orders. He was scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Tuesday.
