Woman arrested after two people assaulted, officers spit on

A London woman is facing several charges after allegedly attacking two people and spitting on two police officers.

The London Police Service said on Sunday, the 30-year-old woman went to a family member's house on Boullee Street and allegedly assaulted a woman who was seated near the home. The two women did not know each other and the attack was unprovoked, police said.

The victim was eventually taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A male family member of the attacker was able to de-escalate the situation by taking the woman for a drive. However, while inside the vehicle on Highbury Avenue North near Dundas Street, the woman allegedly assaulted her family member.

Police were then contacted and the woman was arrested, but while walking her to the police cruiser, the woman allegedly resisted arrest and spit on two of the officers. Neither officer was injured.

As a result, 30-year-old Freskela Danielle Malula of London is charged with assault, resisting arrest, two counts of assaulting a peace officer and failing to comply with a release order.

The male driver who was assaulted declined to press charges.

Anyone with further information regarding these incidents is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
