One new case of COVID-19 confirmed in London-area

The Middlesex London Health Unit confirmed just one new case of COVID-19 on Saturday.

The health unit said the number of deaths in the region remains at 57, while the case count now sits at 630.

Of the total number of cases, 112 are related to long-term care homes in the area while 68 are related to retirement homes. So far, 24 deaths have occurred and long-term care homes and 13 at retirement homes.

There are currently no outbreaks at any London-area long-term care or retirement homes.

Meanwhile, Ontario reported just a 0.3 per cent increase in cases on Saturday, bringing the provincial caseload to 35,656.
