Three additional COVID-19 cases in London-area

The Middlesex London Health Unit has confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.

According to the health unit, the number of deaths in the region remains at 57, while the case count now sits at 616.

This marks the first time in several days that more than one case was reported.

Of the total number of cases, 109 are related to long-term care homes in the area while 68 are related to retirement homes. So far, 24 deaths have occurred and long-term care homes and 13 at retirement homes.

Outbreaks of the virus continue at only one local long-term care facility – Westmount Gardens.

Meanwhile, two more cases were listed as being recovered, bringing the total number of individuals who have recovered from the virus in the London-area to 499.

Across Ontario 160 new cases were reported on Saturday, bringing the provincial case count to 34,476. So far 29,932 people in the province have recovered from the virus.
