Police seeking sex trafficking suspect

London police are hoping the public can help them find a man who is accused of trafficking a young woman from the time she was 17.

Police are looking for Adil Hosannah, 28, of Ajax (shown above).

According to police, he met the victim in 2014 when she was 15. It's alleged that, two years later, he put her in the sex trade in the Greater Toronto Area and London. Police said she was threatened with a firearm on more than one occasion.

"In April of 2020, the suspect moved the victim into a London residence and stole her identification," police alleged in a news release issued Thursday. "On April 25, 2020, the victim was assaulted by the suspect during an attempt to escape, and sustained minor injuries as a result."

Police said the victim was able to escape on April 29. She reported the incidents to police in Brantford, who referred the matter to London police.

An investigation has led to several charges against Hosannah. They include trafficking a person under 18, getting financial or material benefit from trafficking a person under 18, obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18, trafficking in persons by exercising control, procuring or recruiting a person to provide sexual services for consideration, obtaining material benefit from sexual services, withholding or destroying travel or identity documents, advertising another person’s sexual services, sexual assault, assault, possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order, and pointing a firearm.

Police have a warrant for Hosannah's arrest. He is described as a black male, about 5'5", 155 lbs, with short black hair and brown eyes.

Police are urging anyone who knows of the whereabouts of the man, to contact investigators with the Human Trafficking Unit by calling 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in online anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
