Youth charged after break-in at high school

A teen is facing charges and London police are looking for a second suspect after a break-in at a high school in Old South.

Police were called to South secondary school on Tecumseh Avenue around 4:45 p.m. Friday in regards to a suspicious person. When they arrived, they saw a male walking away from the school. He started running and dropped electronics and he fled.

A second male was found standing in a doorway of the school. He was taken into custody. A 17-year-old is charged with theft and break and enter.

Police are still looking for the suspect who ran from the scene. He is described as a white male, between 13 and 19 years of age, with a slim build and black, wavy hair. At the time, he was wearing a black ball cap with an "H" on the front, a black t-shirt, black pants, and white running shoes.

Police have not released a damage estimate from the break-in, but the London Free Press reports several windows were smashed and computer equipment was destroyed. Several Chromebooks were also stolen.
