Man charged after officer assaulted

A London man is facing several charges after an incident that saw a police officer get assaulted.

Police were called about an assault and property damage in north London on Tuesday. They saw a vehicle believed to have been used by the suspect on Wonderland Road south of Aldersbrook Road. Officers approached the car and saw suspected crack cocaine inside. The suspect, who was inside the vehicle, was told that he was under arrest. However, the man refused to get out of the car.

Officers were able to place him under arrest. However, it's alleged he assaulted one of the officers during the arrest.

A 31-year-old London man is charged with drug possession, assault, mischief under $5,000, impaired driving, resisting arrest, and assault with intent to resist arrest.
