Guns, $92K in crystal meth seized in southwestern Ontario raids

Four Londoners and a Kitchener woman are facing a long list of charges after handguns, a taser, and nearly $93,000 worth of crystal methamphetamine were seized during police raids throughout southwestern Ontario.

London police, with the assistance of Waterloo police, OPP, and Hanover police, searched five homes in London, Kitchener, and Hanover on Wednesday. Three of the homes were on Wavell Street, Emery Street, and Brydges Street in London.

In all, police found two loaded handguns, a loaded sawed-off shotgun with the serial number removed, a taser, a bulletproof vest, ammunition, and 928 grams of crystal methamphetamine, which police say is valued at $92,800. Approximately $20,000 in cash and cellphones were also seized in the raids.

Two men and two women from London between the ages of 30 to 35 have been charged with multiple drugs and weapons offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a regulated firearm.

A 23-year-old Kitchener woman is charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

All five were scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Thursday.
