Humane Society postpones Bark in the Park

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced Humane Society London & Middlesex to cancel one of its biggest annual fundraisers.

The humane society announced Wednesday morning that the 2020 edition of Bark in the Park has been cancelled. The event was to be held on June 14.

“The safety of our community is our most important consideration,” said Humane Society London & Middlesex Executive Director Steve Ryall. “We felt this was the appropriate decision considering the continued State of Emergency in the province and the uncertainty around when social gatherings will be permitted to take place.”

While Bark in the Park is cancelled for this year, the humane society is moving forward with plans for a virtual fundraiser. The “Sit. Stay. Bid!” online auction will be held from June 15 to June 21. According to the humane society, it "provides local businesses the opportunity to promote their goods and services by contributing gift cards."

Information on the auction can be found here.
