A man and woman wanted in connection with a carjacking in Oxford County have been arrested.

Provincial police said Wednesday that the man and woman were arrested in Simcoe on Tuesday night. Police had been looking for them since Monday, when two people in a vehicle on Beachville Road near Ingersoll were approached by a man and woman who were armed with a knife. The victims were ordered out of the vehicle, which was then stolen from them.

No one was hurt and the stolen vehicle was later found in Norfolk County.

Officers on patrol in Simcoe on Tuesday night arrested two people. Michelle Robertson, 29, of Woodstock and Sean Robertson, 32, of Tillsonburg are each charged with robbery with a weapon, flight from police, illegal use of a credit card, and two counts of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Oxford OPP believe the suspects in this incident are the same pair accused of using a stolen pickup truck to crash into three vehicles, including two police cruisers at the Westmount Motel in Woodstock minutes before the carjacking. The motel is located on Beachville Road.

Police said further charges are expected to be laid.
