Decommissioned fire truck stolen

London police are turning to the public for help in finding a decommissioned fire truck that was stolen from a south-end compound.

The big red truck and an attached orange "ring-o-matic" trailer were stolen overnight Wednesday from the fenced compound on Wharncliffe Road South.

Police tweeted photos of the truck and trailer on Thursday to draw the public's attention to the theft.

"We thought that the vehicle and trailer are very unique and that by posting the images someone would recognize them and contact us," said Constable Sandasha Bough.

The truck is currently owned by a private citizen.
