Knights topple Spitfires 4-2

The London Knights extended their win streak to four games by defeating the Windsor Spitfires 4-2 on Thursday.

The Spitfires were first on the board with Cole Purboo scoring less than two minutes into the fame. Windsor held the lead throughout the first period, but Jonathan Gruden and Alec Regula both scored in the second to give the Knights a 2-1 lead heading into the final frame.

Wyatt Johnston scored for Windsor 6:39 into the third to tie the game, but Liam Foudy scored with just over 10 minutes left in the game to give London back the advantage. Connor McMichael scored on an empty net in the final 12 seconds of the game to cap off the win for London.

Knights goalie Brett Brochu made 36 saves out of 38 shots on net, and Spitfires goaltender Xavier Medina made 30 saves, letting in only three goals.

The Knights will look to add another win to the board on Friday when they take on the Storm in Guelph at 7:30 p.m. And then on Saturday, the Spitfires will look to rebound on the road when they battle the Barrie Colts at 7:30 p.m.
