Lightning struck down by Magic 105-97

The Moncton Magic snapped a seven-game win streak for the London Lightning in a 105-97 decision on Thursday.

The Magic were able to inch ahead of London to end the first quarter with a one-point lead, but the Lightning fought back to tie the game at 54-54 heading into halftime. A back-and-forth third quarter saw Moncton take a 79-77 lead as the game entered the final frame, where the Magic remained in the lead to win with an eight-point advantage.

AJ Gaines led London with 18 points and seven rebounds, while Randy Phillips had 15 points and six rebounds. Maurice Bolden put up 14 points and had seven rebounds.

The Lightning are on the road again on January 30 when they take on the KW Titans at 7 p.m.
