Snow squall watch in effect

After a few days that have felt like early spring at times, the London area could be in for a snow-filled Thursday.

Environment Canada has issued a snow squall watch for London and Middlesex County. The weather agency says can expect snow squalls and blowing snow.

"Snow squalls are forecast to develop Thursday afternoon associated with cold northwesterly winds in the wake of a weak low-pressure system," Environment Canada's advisory said. "Up to 10 centimetres of new snowfall can be expected by Thursday evening, with an additional 10 cm possible Thursday night. Blowing snow will accompany the snow squalls at times making travel difficult."

The snow squalls are expected to weaken by Friday morning.

However, the area can expect another blast of snow heading into the weekend. Environment Canada is forecasting snow to begin falling again on Friday night and continue Saturday, with some parts of the London area expected to see up to 15 centimetres by Sunday.
