Foudy, McMichael invited to Team Canada camp

Two members of the London Knights could be donning the red and white for Canada this holiday season.

Hockey Canada announced Monday that 31 players, including Liam Foudy and Connor McMichael of the Knights, have been invited to the selection camp for Canada's national junior team that will compete in the World Junior Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic. The selection camp runs from December 9-12 and will be held in Oakville.

“After a long evaluation process through summer camp, the early weeks of the CHL season and the Canada-Russia Series, we are nearing the final steps in selecting the roster that will represent Canada at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship,” said Hockey Canada head scout Brad McEwen. “We are expecting a highly competitive camp from these 31 players, and we know there will be many difficult decisions when it comes time to select the players who will wear the Maple Leaf in the Czech Republic.”

The list of players invited to camp was put together by a group that included McEwen and London Knights co-owners Dale and Mark Hunter. Dale Hunter will be the team's head coach at this year's tournament.

In all, four goalies, 10 defencemen, and 17 forwards will compete for spots on the roster.

The World Junior Hockey Championship begins on Boxing Day and ends on January 5.
