Knights double Spitfires 6-3

The London Knights have earned their fifth straight win by defeating the Windsor Spitfires 6-3 on Friday.

Connor McMichael kicked off the game with a goal for London 16:36 into the first period.  Nathan Dunkley and Antonio Stranges both added goals in the second period to give the Knights a 3-0 lead heading into the third.

Daniel D’Amico scored early in the final frame to put Windsor on the board, but Liam Foudy, Cole Tymkin and Luke Evangelista answered with back-to-back goals to give London a big 6-1 lead. Connor Corcoran and Chris Playfair both scored in the final four minutes of the game to cut London’s lead in half, but the Knights still ended things with the win.

Knights goalie Dylan Myskiw made 21 saves out of 24 shots on net, while Windsor goaltender Kari Piiroinen made 34 saves out of 40 shots.

The Knights are on the road on Saturday to take on the Flint Firebirds at 7 p.m. Also on Saturday at 7:05 p.m., the Spitfires face off against the Niagara IceDogs at the WFCU Centre.
