It's going to be a very windy day across southwestern Ontario on Wednesday.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for London-Middlesex, Elgin-St Thomas, Oxford County, Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, and Sarnia-Lambton, saying winds will gust between 70 to 80 kilometres per hour throughout the day.
The strong winds are a result of a low pressure system moving over Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.
According to the national weather agency, southeasterly winds gusting to 70 km/h will begin in the morning. They will shift to the southwest early in the afternoon with gusts of 70 to 80 km/h.
Tree branches could break and loose objects could be tossed around due to the windy conditions.
For residents in Norfolk County, where a wind warning is in effect, damage could be even more severe. Gusts of up to 100 km/h could cause damage to buildings by ripping shingles off of roofs or bringing down power lines.
The wind is expected to ease by Wednesday night.
