UPDATE: Mount Brydges convenience store robbed at knife-point

Strathroy-Caradoc police have arrested an 18-year-old from Chippewas of the Thames First Nation following an early morning armed robbery at a convenience store in Mount Brydges.

A man, armed with a knife, walked into a convenience store at 22537 Adelaide Rd. and demanded money from the clerk around 2 a.m. on Monday. The man then took off in a 2008 Black Dodge Nitro with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen driving southbound on Adelaide Road.

Police released surveillance photos of the man and his vehicle hours after the robbery.

It was announced early Monday evening that an 18-year-old had been arrested in connection with the robbery. He is facing charges of robbery with a weapon and theft under $5,000. He will be held in custody until a bail hearing Tuesday morning.
