Fog advisory issued

Drivers across southwestern Ontario planning to make the early morning commute on Tuesday should expect some heavy fog.

Environment Canada issued a fog advisory Monday evening for Chatham-Kent, Windsor-Essex, Sarnia-Lambton, London and Middlesex County ahead of dense fog that is expected to form in the evening and last into Tuesday morning.

"Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero. Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop," the weather agency said in the advisory.

There is also a risk of freezing drizzle overnight into Tuesday morning, which could cause untreated surfaces to become slippery.

Conditions are expected to improve throughout the morning.
