Knights fall 6-4 to Petes

The London Knights dropped a 6-4 decision to the Peterborough Petes in their home opener on Friday.

Hunter Skinner kicked off the game for the Knights by scoring 15:53 into the first period, but the Petes were able to score twice before the end of the frame to take the lead. Peterborough added another two goals in the second to take a 4-1 lead heading into the third.

Connor McMichael scored for London early in the final period, but the Petes answered with one of their own. Skinner scored his second of the night 8:56 into the frame but once again the Petes responded with a goal of their own with just over seven minutes left in the game.  Nathan Dunkley scored once more for London with four minutes left to play, but the Knights were able to regain any more ground before the buzzer.

Despite the loss, London outshot Peterborough 35-23.

The Knights are back on the ice on Saturday to battle the Colts in Barrie at 7:30 p.m.
