A 66-year-old driver from Windsor is fighting for his life following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 401 near Woodstock.
The Ontario Provincial Police said on Tuesday shortly before 2:42 p.m., the driver of a silver vehicle lost control while in the eastbound lanes and collided with the concrete median, mounted the median and then came back into the eastbound lanes. The vehicle then crashed into the roadside ditch where it came to a rest.
The 66-year-old was rushed to hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries.
The crash caused delays in the eastbound lanes just east of Highway 59 Tuesday evening due to lane closures. The highway was cleared at around 10:30 p.m.
