Fight at Simcoe hospital leads to stabbing

Police are looking for two suspects after one person was stabbed in the parking lot of the hospital in Simcoe.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Friday shortly before 6:15 p.m., two people became involved in an argument with the victim in the parking lot of Norfolk General Hospital on West Street, which turned into a physical fight. The victim was then stabbed with an "edged weapon." Police said the two attackers took off from the scene heading east -- one was riding a bicycle while the other ran.

The victim was taken to the emergency room of the hospital to be treated for serious non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the victim and the two attackers are known to each other, and there is no threat to public safety.

An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
