Humane Society appeals for food donations

Animal loving Londoners are being asked to pick up some extra dog and cat food for the Humane Society London and Middlesex.

The animal shelter announced on Wednesday that it is in urgent need of unopened wet and dry puppy, adult dog, kitten, and adult cat food. The appeal for donations comes as the Humane Society is currently caring for dozens of animals, which has nearly depleted its food supply.

“As a non-profit, charitable organization we rely on the support of our community in order to provide care, shelter and much-deserved second chances to the voiceless animals in our community,” Humane Society Executive Director Steve Ryall said in a statement. “Contributions of items from our Wish List, such as pet food, allow us to allocate more funds towards routine and life-saving medications and medical procedures.”

The Humane Society asks that food donations be from one of three specific pet food brands ‘Royal Canin’, ‘Hill’s’, and ‘Purina Pro Plan/One’. Those brands of pet food can be purchased at the following London stores:

All 11 Pet Valu London locations All four PetSmart London locations Ren’s Pets Depot at 1979 Hyde Park Rd. and at 3409 Wonderland Rd. S Southwest Pet at 1641 Dundas St.

All donations can be dropped off at the Humane Society London and Middlesex at 624 Clarke Rd. from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends.
