Victim in fatal SUV crash identified

Provincial police have released the name of a man killed in a single vehicle crash in Oxford County.

Jermaine Booth, 41, of Jamaica died when the SUV he was in left the roadway on Potters Road, south of Otterville around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9. He was one of five seasonal labourers from Jamaica who were in the vehicle at the time of the crash, according to the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police.

Booth was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other four men were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"OPP Oxford County would like to thank the Jamaican Consulate for their assistance in this investigation," police said in a statement issued Monday.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-888-310-1122.
