An 86-year-old St. Thomas woman escaped with minor injuries after being attacked and choked by a neighbour.
The elderly woman was picking up broken glass outside of her Avon Road apartment building on Monday night, when a woman came out of her apartment and assaulted her, St. Thomas police said.
A 52-year-old woman turned herself in to police in relation to the incident on Tuesday morning. She is now charged with assault.
