Police allege fatal motorcycle crash caused by drunk driver

A collision near Dorchester that claimed the life of a motorcyclist was the result of a young man's decision to drive drunk, according to police.

According to Middlesex OPP, an eastbound vehicle crossed the centre line and clipped a westbound vehicle before colliding with a westbound motorcycle. The motorcycle rider, identified by police as 40-year-old Andrew Ferguson of Woodstock, was rushed to hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle, 21-year-old Kareem Husseini, is charged with impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death, over 80mg of alcohol causing death, criminal negligence causing death, and failing to comply with a recognizance.

He was to appear in London court Tuesday for a bail hearing.
