Police investigating shooting in London

London police are appealing to the public for witnesses as they try to track down some leads in connection with an overnight shooting.

Police said officers were called to the scene in the area of Dundas Street near English Street at around 11:20 p.m. Thursday after a man was shot.

The victim is currently in the hospital in critical condition.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but police do not believe it was a random incident. There is no word on whether any arrests have been made yet in connection with the case.

Police originally cordoned off the area outside of a pizzeria at 735 Dundas St., before taping off a section outside of a building a short distance away at 745 Dundas St. Investigators could be seen scouring the area for evidence Friday morning.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area or heard anything or saw anything at the time of the shooting to officers a call at 519-661-5670 or contact Crime Stoppers at (519) 661-8477.
