Raptors crowned champions over Warriors

The Toronto Raptors have won their first NBA Championship in the franchise's 24-year history.

The Raptors took down the Golden State Warriors 114-110 on Thursday, to win the NBA Finals best-of-seven series 4-2.

Raptors fever spread quickly throughout towns and cities in Canada this Spring, including London, Sarnia, and Windsor which all held viewing parties to watch as the Toronto team advance in the series. Windsor hosted a Jurassic Park in Charles Clark Square, while Dundas Place in London filled with Raptors fans for a similar viewing party.

Sarnia's Valley Axe hosted outdoor parties throughout the finals.

The win for the Raptors is not just a milestone for the franchise, but it also marks the first time that a team outside the U.S. has taken home the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
