Dream Lottery sells out a month before deadline

Anyone eager to see the results of the spring edition of the Dream Lottery in London won't have to wait as long.

The semi-annual sweepstakes, in support of the London Health Sciences Centre, Children’s Hospital, and St. Joseph’s Health Care, sold out on Wednesday, prior to the sales deadline for the Bonus Draw deadline on Thursday, and well before the final deadline of July 4.

The 50/50 pool has set a record by exceeding a total of $1.05 million.  Prior to the spring, the Dream Lottery has also raised a total of almost $35 million in support of London’s three hospitals since it was created in 1996.

“This is a big win for patients from across our region," said John MacFarlane, president & CEO of London Health Sciences Foundation

The draw date for the grand prizes and 50/50 will now be moved up in accordance with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario rules and will now be held on July 4. The draws were originally planned for July 17-18.

This year's spring edition of the lottery was launched in April when sweepstakes officials announced two luxury homes in London and a cottage retreat in Grand Bend that would be among the grand prize options. Winners can also opt for $1 million in cash instead of one of the dream homes.

This spring marks the third sell out in the last four editions of the lottery. The spring Dream Lottery also sold out in 2017 and 2018.
