Police identify head-on crash victims

Provincial police have released more details about a fatal crash near Wardsville that killed two people over the weekend.

The OPP said two vehicles travelling in the opposite direction on Longwoods Road at around 6:15 pm on Saturday, May 25, collided head-on. The investigation found that the vehicle, driven by one of the two people who died, crossed the line for unknown reasons, and struck an oncoming vehicle. Middlesex OPP, the Technical Collision Investigators, London EMS, Ornge Air Ambulance and Southwest Middlesex Fire Department all responded to the scene.

OPP have identified the deceased as 48-year-old Khaldoun El-Rifai and 26-year-old Rabiaa Sayour.  Four others were taken to hospital with injuries ranging from minor to serious.

Police said one person has been released while three others remain in hospital, but their injuries have been downgraded to minor.
