Impaired charges laid after stolen car crashes

A 38-year-old London woman is accused of stealing and crashing a car into another vehicle near Lambeth while drunk.

London police were called to the two-vehicle crash on Longwoods Road, near Murray Road around 3:20 p.m. on Thursday. A silver Audi and a red SUV had collided, trapping two people inside the one vehicle. Firefighters had to cut the people from the wreckage of the SUV. They along with the driver of the Audi suffered minor injuries.

Roughly 20 minutes before the crash, the Audi was stolen from a home on Prince Albert Street in Delaware and was seen by multiple people speeding east on Longwoods Road, police said.

A 38-year-old London woman is charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and theft of a motor vehicle. She is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on June 11.
