Rolling Stones Canada Day weekend concert back on

The Rolling Stones' Canada Day weekend performance in Ontario is back on the tour schedule following Mick Jagger's swift recovery from heart surgery.

The legendary British band announced Thursday the only Canadian stop on their North American “No Filter” tour at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds near Barrie will go ahead as planned on June 29.

Joining the iconic rockers will be Juno winning Kingston natives The Glorious Sons and Toronto's alternative rock band The Beaches.

Earlier this year, the Stones had to postpone their tour due to Jagger's medical treatment. However, the 75-year-old appears to have fully recovered. On Wednesday, he posted a video to social media showing him dancing in a studio to "Techno Fan" by the Wombats.

The No Filter tour was originally slated to kick off in Miami on April 20. It will now begin in Chicago with two shows, June 21 and June 25. The group will then make their way to Ontario. Roughly 70,000 people are expected to pack the 600-acre outdoor site, which is located 15 minutes north of Barrie, for that performance.

New tour stops have also been announced in New Orleans, Denver, Seattle, Santa Clara, Pasadena, Glendale. The Miami show now wraps up the tour on August 31.

"We are delighted to announce the new US and Canada tour dates today. All of the cities from the previously postponed shows are locked in," said an official statement on the Stones' website. "We apologize again for any inconvenience the re-scheduling of these dates may have caused you and hope to see you at a show very soon."

Tickets sold for the original tour dates will be honoured and do not need to be exchanged. Those who cannot attend the re-scheduled dates can refund their tickets by accessing their Ticketmaster account.
