Overnight street parking returns Friday

Just in time for the long weekend, Londoners will be able to park their vehicles overnight on most city streets without being penalized.

The city will lift its ban on overnight street parking on Friday, which means vehicles can be left on many city streets between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. without the need of an overnight parking pass. The bylaw does stipulate that no vehicle will be allowed in the same spot for more than 12 hours and parking will remain prohibited in front of fire hydrants, on boulevards, and on front lawns.

"The overnight bylaw exemption does not apply to commercial motor vehicles, mobile homes or trailers, as they have their own regulations," the City of London said in a statement.

A list of streets where parking restrictions will remain in place can be found by clicking here.

Anyone with questions or concerns about the parking leniency is asked to call 519-661-4537

Overnight parking restrictions will return after the Labour Day long weekend.
