Charge laid after human remains found

A Norfolk County man is facing a charge after the discovery of human remains near Port Burwell.

Elgin OPP announced on Friday afternoon that a charge was laid against Samuel Waters, 22.

"The accused was charged with indignity to human remains contrary to section 182(b) of the Criminal Code and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on May 15, 2019," police said in a statement.

Police were called to a bluff area near Lakeshore Line in Elgin County on Tuesday. According to the London Free Press, the human remains were found in a freezer in an area that has been a popular spot for parties.
