Child robbed of Nerf gun

London police are asking for the public's help tracking down a pair of men accused of shoving a young boy to the ground and stealing his Nerf gun.

The eight-year-old boy was playing in the driveway of his home on Hamilton Road around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday when a dark blue Chevrolet pickup truck stopped. A man in the passenger got out of the truck and pushed the boy to the ground before stealing his toy.

The man got back into the truck, which then took off. The boy was not physically hurt.

“It is appalling that a young boy who was playing with his friends in front of his home became a victim of this senseless crime,” said Detective Sergeant Ryan Scrivens. “We are hopeful that those involved will come to their senses, do the right thing and turn themselves in.”

The driver of the truck is described as male, Caucasian, and approximately 18 years old. The passenger is described as Caucasian, between 15 to 18 years old, with short brown hair. He was wearing a blue shirt.

There were two other passengers in the back seat of the pickup, but no described of them was provided.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
