Knights lose to Guelph and face Game 7

The London Knights need a win Tuesday night to avoid joining the 2004 New York Yankees and the 2009-2010 Boston Bruins in infamy.

The Knights lost 5-3 to Guelph in Game 6 of their Western Conference semi-final series on Saturday night. After taking a 3-0 lead in the series, the Knights have dropped three straight and face a deciding Game 7 at Budweiser Gardens on Tuesday. If they win, they advance to the Western Conference final. If they lose, they join the 2004 Yankees and the 2009-2010 Bruins as teams that have lost four straight games after taking 3-0 leads in a playoff series.

Things started well for the Knights on Saturday night. Liam Foudy scored at 3:30 of the first period to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. Guelph's Isaac Ratcliffe evened the score at 7:01 of the second period. After Billy Moskal gave the Knights a 2-1 lead at 15:20 of the second, the Storm roared back with three unanswered goals to take a 4-2 lead.

Adam Boqvist brought the Knights within one goal when he found the net at 5:09 of the third period. But Nick Suzuki's empty net goal sealed the win for the Storm.

The deciding Game 7 of the series is set for Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Budweiser Gardens.
