Lightning struck down by Titans 101-97 in Game 2

The London Lightning fell 101-97 to the KW Titans in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series on Tuesday.

The first quarter ended with both teams tied 20-20 but the Lightning were able to take a 49-43 lead as the game entered halftime.  The Titans kept pace and briefly took the lead in the third frame, but London inched ahead to enter the final quarter with a 69-68 advantage.  A back-and-forth final frame saw the Lightning fall behind in the final three minutes to lose with a four-point deficit.

Garrett Williamson led London with 20 points and five rebounds, while Marvin Phillips added 109 points and four rebounds.  Anthony "AJ" Gaines Jr. also put up 12 points and Xavier Moon added another 11 with six assists.

The Titans lead the best-of-five series 2-0.

The Lightning will look to stave off elimination on Thursday when they take on the Titans in Game 3. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. in Kitchener.
