Spitfires eliminated after 5-2 loss to Knights

The London Knights have completed a four-game sweep against the Windsor Spitfires following a 5-2 victory in Game 4 on Thursday.

Adam Boqvist kicked off the game for the Knights with a goal 1:37 into the first period, but Tyler Angle scored for the Spitfires at the 13:54 mark to tie the game. William Lochead scored late in the first frame to give London a 2-1 lead heading into the second.

Kevin Hancock extended the lead for the Knights with a goal 12:04 into the second, and Connor Corcoran scored for Windsor to make it a one goal game with just over five minutes left in the period. Boqvist scored his second goal of the night 16:20 into the frame to give London a 4-2 advantage.

Billy Moskal scored for the Knights late in the third to cap off their win.

London goaltender Jordan Kooy made 23 saves during the game, while Windsor goalie Kari Piiroinen made 24.

The Spitfires have been eliminated from the playoffs with London winning the best-of-seven series 4-0.

The Knights will now move on to the Western Conference semifinals in the OHL playoffs.
