Humane Society in need of cat food

The Humane Society London and Middlesex is turning to the public for help feeding the dozens of cats and kittens currently in its care.

The animal shelter issued an appeal Thursday asking for donations of wet kitten and adult cat food. It noted it is nearly out of its supply of the soft food as it provides care to dozens of furry kitties.

“As a non-profit organization who does not receive any type of direct Government funding, we are appealing to our community for assistance,” Humane Society Executive Director Steve Ryall said in a statement. “Contributions of items from our Wish List, such as wet cat and kitten food, allow us to allocate more funds towards routine and life-saving medications and medical procedures.”

The shelter asks that any food donations be from one of the three pet food brands ‘Royal Canin’, ‘Hill’s’, and ‘Purina Pro Plan/One’. Those brands of canned feline food can be purchased at the following London stores:

Ren’s Pets Depot North located at 1979 Hyde Park Rd. Ren’s Pets Depot South located at 3409 Wonderland Rd. South, Unit 10 PetSmart Masonville located at 86 Fanshawe Park Rd. East Pet Valu Westwood-London located at 425 Southdale Rd. West

All donations can be dropped off at the Humane Society London and Middlesex at 624 Clarke Rd. Thursday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. or this weekend from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
