Lightning derail Express 115-106

The London Lightning topped the Windsor Express 115-106 in NBLC action on Wednesday.

The Express were close on the heels of the Lightning at the end of the first quarter with London leading by only one point. Windsor continued to keep pace with London in the second but the Lightning continued to lead 61-57 heading into halftime.

The Express were able to tie the game in the third, but the Lightning regained an 88-78 lead by the end of the frame. London held their lead throughout the final frame to win with a nine-point advantage.

Anthony "AJ" Gaines Jr. led London 22 points and 16 rebounds, while Maurice Bolden added 19 points and eight rebounds. Marcus Capers and Kirk Williams Jr. both put up 16 points each.

Chris Jones scored a game-high 32 points for Windsor and had four rebounds. Tyrrel Tate added 22 points of his own and five rebounds, while Ryan Anderson put up 20 points and had 11 rebounds.

The Lightning are on the road on Saturday to take on the KW Titans at 7 p.m. And then on Sunday, the Express are in PEI to take on the Island Storm at 2 p.m.
