Traffic on the westbound Highway 401 just outside of St. Thomas is moving again following a closure Thursday morning.
Elgin County OPP shut down the westbound lanes of the highway at Colonel Talbot Road (exit 177) at around 11 a.m. to remove a tractor-trailer that was in the centre median of the highway near Mill Road.
The closure was expected to last approximately two hours. Provincial police reopened the westbound lanes around 1:20 p.m.
One person was charged after driving around signs indicating the highway closure, police said.
