UPDATE: Tragic end to Amber Alert for 11-year-old girlFebruary 14, 2019 11:46pm
The body of an 11-year-old girl who was the subject of a late night Amber Alert has been found.
Ria Rajkumar was found in a Brampton home just hours after Peel Regional Police issued the alert Thursday night.
Her 41-year-old father was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police.
The Amber Alert was issued around 11 p.m. after Roopesh Rajkumar failed to return the girl to her mother.
Peel Regional Police also responded to complaints it received about the Amber Alert.
Our communications bureau is receiving numerous calls to 9-1-1, complaining about the late hour of the Amber Alert. As a direct result of someone receiving the alert, we were able to locate the suspect & his vehicle. The system works. Thank you to all those that called with tips.

Meanwhile, the OPP also weighed in on the complaints about the alert received by their Wellington detachment.
