Lightning stop Express 132-109

All five London Lightning starters scored in double digits in their 132-109 win over the Windsor Express at Budweiser Gardens Sunday afternoon.

It was London’s third straight win, and their second over Windsor in four days.

The Lightning was in complete control of the entire contest, going on a 44-19 run in the first quarter alone and holding a 69-53 lead at halftime. London added to its lead after three quarters, which carried it through the homestretch, despite Windsor making adjustments defensively in the fourth quarter.

Despite all starters getting double-digit points for London, it was A.J. Gaines Jr. leading on offence by scoring 25 points off the bench. Maurice Bolden put in 21 points while Kevin Ware Jr. added 18 with nine assists. Gaines also led on defence with nine rebounds.

Windsor’s top scorer also came off the bench. Chris Jones led both sides with 32 points, including a perfect seven-for-seven from the free-throw line. Ryan Anderson and Anthony Ottley Jr. sank 21 points apiece. Anderson and Juan Pattillo each led defensively with seven boards.

The Express return to the WFCU Centre on Wednesday night when they host the Sudbury Five. London is off till Saturday when they also host Sudbury.
