Charges laid in weekend shooting, stabbing

Charges have been laid against one of two suspects in a weekend shooting and stabbing incident that left two men injured.

Emergency crews found the two injured men in the area of 495 Cleveland Avenue, west of Pond Mills Road, around 1:45 a.m. on Saturday after a caller to 911 reported the incident.

London police determined the two men were approached by two other men who pulled a firearm and a knife. One victim was stabbed while the other was shot. Both were taken to hospital in stable condition.

The two suspects took off while the men sought help for their wounds, police said.

Officers arrested a man, who was wanted on several warrants, shortly after they arrived on scene. He was said to be in possession of a firearm at the time of his arrest.

Jacob Ryan Douglas Seeger, 22, of London is now charged with robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault, reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a loaded restricted firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited and without a licence, and breach of recognizance.

Seeger is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Tuesday.

Police continue to search for the second suspect involved in this incident. He is described as being over six feet tall, 20 to 30 years old, with dark brown or black hair.

Anyone with information about this is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
